Who we are

The idea for Formation Wind Band was born in 2018 by founders Anne Kreider-Hughes and Erin Keeton-Howard as a community wind band space for women in Seattle to create, collaborate, and be in community. Seven years and 8 concert cycles later, Formation Wind Band is a vibrant, affirming, and fun space for women to connect and create music together. We now have two performing groups, Wind Ensemble and Wind Symphony, to include as many women as possible in our community while also respecting the quality of the music-making and our physical space limitations.
